This rainbow trout is named for the iridescent pink-to-red band running the length of its body — one of the most widely recognized and heavily stocked freshwater fish in North America. I loved building up that stripe in layers, letting it shift from rose to gold the way it does in real light. Original watercolor on archival, 100% cotton paper.
