Commissions

• Step 1: Let’s Chat –  Fill out the form below or email me directly—tell me about the bird or animal you'd like me to paint, and attach a reference photo if you have one.
   
• Step 2: Planning – Together we’ll choose the composition (portrait or full body) and size to fit your vision and space.
   
• Step 3: Agreement & Deposit – I’ll send a simple agreement including timeline, pricing, and what's included (mat, framing options, etc.). A 50% deposit will secure your place in my schedule.
   
• Step 4: Painting Updates – I’ll send progress photos so you can see your painting as it slowly developes and comes to life.
   
• Step 5: Final Delivery – Once I finish, I'll send you a photo of the final product. At that time, the final balance is due, and I ship or we arrange pickup.

 Portraits begin at $500 for a single subject (9×12), using archival cotton paper and professional-grade pigments. Want a pair or trio of paintings? Enjoy a 10% “art cousins” discount. Commission fee covers the painting only, but I'm happy to help source framing or mats. 

• How long will it take?
  Most pieces take 8 weeks once I begin painting, but depending on my current schedule, your start date may be later. I’ll give you a realistic timeline before you commit so there are no surprises.

• What if I don't have a great photo?
  Clear, detailed photos are always ideal, but I understand it's not always feasible. Videos can also work well as an alternative, since I can often capture useful stills from them. In addition, I partner with several renowned bird and wildlife photographers from across the US and abraod. These generous collaborators allow me to use their photosgraphs are reference material, so even if you don't have the perfect image, I can usually provide excellent options.

• Do you ship?
  Yes! I package every piece with carefully and ship insured to ensure your artwork arrives safely. Local pickup is always welcome if you’re nearby.

• Can I request revisions?
  Because watercolor doesn’t allow for easy reworking, I share progress images and encourage feedback early—small tweaks at that stage go a long way.  

• Do you paint pets?
  At this time, I am not accepting commissions of pets.
